Guyra Shire Council has been recognised for its contribution to tackling heart disease at the 2014 Heart Foundation Healthy Community Awards, announced on the 7 August 2014 in Sydney.


NSW RFS declares start to Bush Fire Danger Period

Friday 1 August will see the introduction of the Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) across the north east of the state and the NSW Rural Fire Service (NSW RFS) is urging residents to prepare for the fire season now.

Public Exhibition of 2014-2015 Operational Plan

The 2014-2015 Operational Plan; inclusive of the Revenue Policy, Fees and Charges, and the Annual Budget is on public exhibition for a period of 28 days. Members of the community are invited to review these documents and make submissions to Council.


Plan of Management for Community Land

Council owns or controls a number of land areas that are designated as Community Land. The majority of this land consists of Council’s parks, reserves for recreation or open space which is generally considered as passive parklands.


Public Exhibition of IPR Documents 2013-2023 Under Review for Special Rate Variation

At the time of drafting the original Delivery Program, Council had not made a decision in relation to proceeding with the Special Rate Variation. Now that Council has resolved to seek a Special Rate Variation, IPART advises that Council needs to update its Delivery Program before they consider the Special Rate Variation application.
